The Vintage Sailplane Association Awards The association has four awards that may be given each year as follows; 1. The Frank Gross Restoration Award. Our most prestigious award, given to the owner of the best restored sailplane or replica completed and flown during the year. The award consists of a wall plaque, a small plaque for the cockpit and a cash award of up to $ 500. 2. The Harland Ross Award. A wall plaque given to the pilot who had the best fight in a vintage ship. 3. The Dean McMillan Award. A wall plaque given to an individual or institution who contributed significantly to the VSA cause. 4. The Robert Stanley Award. A wall plaque given to an individual or institution for significant performance at a VSA meet. Awards are normally not given to association officers for performance of their assigned duties.
