Benefits and Services Description*

Application for Business Membership can be submitted on your letterhead stationery and should describe the business and its relationship to soaring. Please include a list of the names of all principals and their official capacities. The annual dues payment of $150.00 should accompany the application.

Support through a Business Membership enables the Soaring Society of America, Inc., to promote and protect our sport. The SSA staff and volunteers are directing their energy in areas such as airspace preservation, pilot and glider certification, soaring site protection and improved safety programs, as well as the publication of SOARING Magazine.
  1. Six copies of SOARING Magazine (cover price $5.00 ea.) each month for the period of the membership.
  2. Business Members are eligible to buy selected SSA merchandise at a discount off the retail price.
  3. Business Members are eligible for consideration of a credit account with the SSA.
  4. Eligibility to purchase display advertising space in SOARING Magazine at Business Member rates.
  5. Mailing labels of SSA members are available for purchase. These labels can be sorted in a variety of sequences (i.e. zip, name, state, membership category, etc.) within your geographic area. Contact the office for correct prices and policies.
  6. A rebate of $12.00 on each new Full SSA Membership recruited when applications are made on official SSA participation forms.
  7. Participation in the SSA's A, B, C, and Bronze Badge Training Program including free supplies of A, B, C, and Bronze Badge pins.
  8. Copy of the Membership Handbook, an SSA membership pin, SSA membership card, a 3" decal of the SSA emblem, a Business Membership certificate suitable for framing and a supply of Business Member logos (upon request) for use on stationery or advertising.
  9. Assistance from the SSA staff.
  10. Right to name one individual affiliated with your business as a "Family" member of the SSA. This person will receive all benefits entitled to a dues paying Family Member. This membership should also be used for flying competitions, as the member to be listed on the ranking list.
  11. Representation by The Soaring Society of America's Office and Board Members to the FAA and other governmental agencies.
  12. Automatic membership in the SSA's Commercial Operators and Business Members committee and receipt of COBM periodic newsletter.
The SSA wants to make Business Membership meet your needs and gain the continuing support of soaring-related businesses. In addition, it has a variety of other services which are available to you as a member. Please let us know if we can help you or your business in any way.
