1998 Region 11 , June 24, 1998 - Contest Day 1
Finally a contest day! Up through 2pm the lift was far weaker than expected,
and most people had to re-light. John Good (FS) was seen re-filling with water
before his re-light, to the on-lookers' puzzlement. The task was then scaled
back to the same as yesterday, Eden - Stowe - Eden, 59 miles. But later in
the day the lift got better for a while, and John Good smoked them all away.
Alas the short task devalued the day.
