Technical side : still some problems with the telephone lines, but now connection from 2 PC in self service at Press Room is working properly and permits anybody in St-Auban to send and receive e-mails (at their home mailbox or at a local address) with a local telephone call or to consult this site or any Internet service... We'll try to complete some webpages still missing as soon as physically possible and to give you more and more information day after day. Hold on the line ! St-Auban, 26 June 1997 Today's weather : Cyclonic SW flow with some light rain. Meteo-France St-Auban soaring forecast bulletin is now on-line at http://www.meteo.fr/manifestations/VAV04.html No practice tasks : today will be a rest day Tomorrow's weather is expected to be slightly better with still the occlusion in the northern part of the flight area Technical side : As you have noticed, there are not yet results of the training tasks on the web : preliminary results have been published in Saint-Auban, unofficial will be soon. Unfortunately for us and me, interface with website is not yet working properly, and priority is to solve local problems before Internet ones ! There have been unexpected problems with some makes of loggers, which don't comply with IGC standard for some items, such as serial number (A-type IGC record) ; thus we had to adapt the scoring program to these non-IGC-standard particularities (note that despite repeated demands, some loggers manufacturers were not able to provide one piece of logger for testing purpose prior to the Championships !) We must confess also that some interface problems, mostly due to installation at St-Auban site, have been delaying publication of results ; this should be soon in order. National Team News : news by Team Captains or Crew members are beginning to arrive : South Africa took the lead with a first bulletin thanks to Carol Clifford yesterday ! France, Sweden also provided their first news in their own language, Spain, Finland, Great Britain, Germany, Poland are expected soon...
