Directors

THE 1997 OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS OF THE SOARING SOCIETY OF AMERICA, INC.

Twenty of the Directors are elected by SSA members repre- senting 12 voting regions. The remaining six are called Directors- at-large and are elected by the Board itself in recognition of a special talent or contribution an individual may bring to the Board. Other Board Officers are also elected by the full Board and serve for one year terms.

Regional Directors are elected for a term of three years, while Directors-at-large serve for only a one year appointment. There is no limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve. In addition to their elected position on the SSA Board of Directors, many of these volunteers also serve on official com- mittees of the Board or on other ad-hoc working groups. In a sub- sequent issue of Soaring magazine, we will print a complete list of all permanent working committees of the SSA, as well as the names, addresses and phone numbers of the respective chair- persons.

The SSA depends on this level of volunteer support as a vital component of our ability to serve the needs of members across the country.
