Wading birds on Lake Nakuru. The first row are Pied Avocets (Recurvirostra avosetta, german: Säbelschnäbler, french: Avocette élégante). The second row are Lesser Flamingos (Phoeniconaias minor, german: Zwergflamingo, french: Flamant nain), behind them are Greater Flamingos (Phoenicopterus roseus, german: Rosaflamingo, french: Flamant rose). The Lesser Flamingos have darker, black tipped beaks and are pinker. The beak of the Greater Flamingo is much lighter, and the plumage is whiter. (605k)
